Emergency Placement Request/Policy

Purpose: The Emergency Internship Assistance Request form should be completed by the practicum instructor when students have exhausted all efforts to find an internship through the standard process. Deadline: Submit this form no later than the census (attendance certification) date for your specific class. Certification deadlines vary by semester and by class length (e.g., 10-week, 12-week, 16-week), so instructors should confirm the exact date on ACC’s Attendance Certification & Grade Submission Deadlines page.

International Students and Internships

F-1 student visa holders must be enrolled in a departmental internship practicum or clinical class to count as Curricular Practical Training (CPT) per US Department of Homeland Security, Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services. Curricular Practical Training is a temporary work authorization directly related to an F-1 student’s academic program, for which the work counts towards completion of a degree. The work performed must be directly related to the student’s major field of study.

  • F-1 International Students must register and gain approval for their departmental practicum/clinical class within their area of study.
  • Required forms may be obtained at the International Student Office by the students at the Riverside and Round Rock Campuses or at: https://admissions.austincc.edu/international-students/

The Request for Targeted Internship Recruitment is to ensure the OEL Internship Programs is meeting departmental needs. This is the departments opportunity to request specific employers, provide updates and areas of specialization that need attention.
